Difficulty finding a bioidentical doctor?

Published by under Doctors

We recently received this email from a new reader which emphasizes the difficulty women and men have  in finding a doctor who can describe bioidentical hormones.

I found your list on the web and the first doc I called had retired and the second one was not covered by OHIP.

Is there any chance that you can shorten my search so that I don’t have to phone all the doctors in the list?

We answer:  It is very difficult for men and women to locate a doctor who knows how to monitor hormone levels and prescribe bioidentical hormones. Our bioidentical doctors‘  list was created because there was a need for it.  It was specifically created to assist patients in finding a bioidentical doctor.  No other list was available on the internet at the time (four years ago).  Other websites have copied our doctors’ list since then.

We have researched both a doctors’ list for the U.S. and one for Canada, such was the need of people in both countries to have a resource for finding a doctor.

For updating this list, we rely on doctors, clinics and our readers to inform us of a new doctor who prescribes bioidentical hormones.  If a doctor has retired, please let us know which doctor has retired for our community of readers and new readers who are searching for a bioidentical doctor.

Also, many doctors who prescribe bioidentical hormones do not bill for this service under OHIP.  This is because the training for managing menopause and hormone levels is costly.  There is also a greater requirement of time on the doctor’s part to manage menopause symptoms and hormone levels for each individual patient.

However, some doctors do bill OHIP for bioidentical patients.  Unfortunately, we at PureAgeless do not have the resources to investigate which doctors bill OHIP and which do not.

We have also told our readers they can ask the pharmacist at a compounding pharmacy in their area.   Compounding pharmacies make up the bioidentical hormone mixtures from prescriptions.  Compounding pharmacies are a good resource for finding a bioidentical doctor.

People in Vancouver and in California are extremely fortunate because there are an abundance of doctors who can prescribe bioidentical hormones.  Elsewhere, as we all know, it’s a different story.

We have arranged the doctors by province/state and city.  We hope this helps our readers.

Pamper yourself with a massage

Now’s the time to make your new years resolutions that most of us have forgotten by the time the third week of January rolls by.  So what’s the point? you may ask.

How about this year we make just promises to ourselves.  About living a more active and healthy lifestyle?  What about solving those health issues, one by one.  If you think of dealing with all those health issues at once, it will overwhelm you.

Find a doctor who has training in bioidentical hormones.  Find a naturopath than knows the body and health issues that one experience as you grow older.

Promise yourself to exercise for its antiaging benefits and for just plain fun.  Promise to feed your body with only good nutritious REAL Food and shop for antiaging foods to stock your fridge and cupboards with.

Promise yourself you will quit smoking this time, for sure.

Promise yourself not to drink too much alcohol if you are and then only drink a couple of glasses of red wine a week.  Give your heart some of that resveratrol to keep it pumping.

Promise yourself to give your body the nutritional supplements you need as you age.

Promise yourself to remove the toxins from  your body and then your surrounding environment.

Promise yourself to find more joy in life this year.

Treat yourself to a few more pedicures and massage therapy sessions.  Promise yourself to take more long soaks in the bath where the only lighting around is little scented candles.  Promise to pamper yourself more often.  Now how difficult are these promises to keep?

Happy new year from the experts on natural antiaging at PureAgeless.
