Anti-Aging Skin Pampering

Published by under Anti-aging,Skin Care

Essential OilsMaking your own anti-aging skin care products is not only fun, but you know exactly what you are putting on your skin.  Your skin is the largest organ of your body and is exposed constantly to the environment and its pollutants. You can make your own anti-aging skin care oils by investing in a carrier oil to mix with other essentials oils to pamper and moisturize your skin. Use organic oils and you will know definitely you are smoothing something healthy and organic into your skin. Many essential oils have anti-aging properties and can be used as a massage oil, bath oil or skin conditioning treatment.

You must use a carrier oil because many aromatherapy oils are too concentrated to be used directly on your skin. For delicate skin, choose a carrier oil such as sunflower seed oil or apricot kernel. For dry skin, chose a sweet almond oil, sesame seed or avocado carrier oil. Mix a few drops of the essential oil into the larger amount of carrier oil.

To give your skin extra pampering, after a hot bath or shower, massage your favorite oil into your skin and it will be better absorbed at this time.

Your Quick Start Guide to Aromatherapy Oils:

• Lavender –calming and promotes cell growth
• Chamomile – calms sensitive dry skin, reduces puffiness, broken veins, aids in promoting skin elasticity and strengthens skin
• Geranium – calming
• Sandalwood – calms itchy skin and balances aging skin
• Grapefruit – stimulating
• Cypress – Good for puffiness, water retention
• Neroli - Good for skin regeneration, broken veins, skin elasticity
• Frankincence – tones and lifts skin, has anti-wrinkle properties, promotes deep breathing and assists in meditation
• Rosehip – penetrates quickly, rich in fatty acids (Omegas), rejuvenates and repairs aged, sun-damaged skin and helps heal scarring
• Argan oil – anti-wrinkle benefits and also helps scarred skin
• Rose oil – expensive but one of the best for aging skin. Also good for mood elevation and stress relief

Try this recipe and make your own organic anti-wrinkle oil. Massage it into the face and neck after cleansing and feel moisturized and rejuvenated..

1 teaspoon of wheatgerm oil
2 tablespoons of hemp oil
1 capsule of evening primrose oil
4 drops each of essential oils of frankincense and sandalwood

Make and store in a dark glass bottle with a lid, store in a dark cool place. Shake before using.

Find some unique jars and bottles to start up your own private label of anti-aging skincare products.

Antiaging Skincare with Goat Milk

Druide Goat Milk Body LotionThe first time I smoothed on some Goat Milk Body Lotion by Druide organic cosmetics, it was a silky surprise! Something to be added to your arsenal of anti-aging skin care for sure!  This lotion has an amazing silky soft consistency and a very delicate aroma I can’t really identify. It soaks into the skin well and doesn’t leave a greasy feeling but it does leave your skin with a silky texture.

It is certified organic by Organic Agriculture. However, I cannot give you a complete ingredient list because the ingredients are not listed on the bottle (maybe I purchased an old bottle). Upon checking Druid’s website, they state it contains pure goat milk, whey, wholewheat proteins, lavender, lenitive and tonic chamomile. They also say that it contains no whitening agents. The goat milk comes from goats raised on a small farm in the Appalachian Mountains.

This goat milk body lotion is designed for normal skin, but my dry skin found it to be nicely moisturizing making it a great anti-aging skincare product we loved!
