Antiaging Skincare Vita-K Solution

A new antiaging skin care product we came across is Vıta*K Solutıon for Blotchy Skın,  We were trying to purchase Vitamin K supplements at the pharmacy to help with osteoporosis prevention. The pharmacy did not stock vitamin K but suggested Vita-K cream – to be absorbed by the skin. Topically applied vitamin K cream has been shown in studies to reduce uneven skin tones and bruising after laser treatments. It is used in many anti-aging skin creams.

Tested over a month long period of time, used twice a day as directed, we found it to be a nice moisturizer which slightly reduced blotchy, uneven skin tones and facial discoloration.

The ingredients list includes Purified Water, Isohexadecane, Grapeseed Oil, PEG-30 Dipolyhydroxystearate, Glycerin, PEG-15 Stearyl Ether, Sorbital, Dl-Panthenol, Phytonadione (Super Vitamin K), Sucrose Oleate, Propylene Glycol (&) Diazolidinyl Urea (&) Methylparaben (&) Propylparaben, Dimethicone, Magnesium Sulfate, Silica, PEG-40 Sorbitan Peroleate and Meadow Sweet Extract. As you can see by this list of ingredients, Vıta*K Solutıon is not an organic product and contains those dreadful parabens among other chemicals.

As an antiaging skincare product with the promise to fight the discoloration of blotchy skin, it did help to even out the skin tone.  It’s a trade off though with the parabens that are to be found in the solution.

Antiaging Skincare Giovanni HydrateBody Lotion

Giovanni Pharmacies, knowing a good marketing trend when they see one, have chosen to start stocking organic antiaging skincare products because they cannot ignore the fact that many people are choosing to follow a more organic path in life. Many organic skincare products are now stocked in your local pharmacy, just like when they started to stock a more vast collection of health supplements which were once only available at your local health food store.

We purchased Giovanni “Hydrate” Body Lotion at our local pharmacy and decided to give it a test run. “Hydrate Body Lotion includes a healthy list of organic ingredients including: Certified Organic Lavendula Angustifolia (Lavender), Echinacea Angustifolia (Coneflower) Ginko Biloba (Ginko Biloba), Rosa Sinensis (Hibiscus), Olea Euopaea (Olive Leaf), Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) and Vanilla Planifolia (Vanilla) Extracts (Aqueous), Stearic Acid, Vegetable Glycerin, Cetyl Alcohol, Isopropyl Myristate, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera), Pronus Amyghalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Eocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Dimethicone, Polysorbate 60, Carbomer, Hydroxymethylglycinate, Essential Oil Fragrance.

We test drove the lotion for the length of one month which used up the full 8.5 oz bottle. The bottle is nicely designed, looks stylish in your bathroom and has a lovely lavender fragrance but we didn’t find it to be very moisturizing to the skin. We give it a 3 out of 5 star rating. However, it is better to use this product than a body lotion containing parabens which are known estrogen disturbers. It retails for just over $10.00 for the 8.5 oz bottle at Shoppers Drug or can be bought online at Amazon.com for about $15.53 for two bottles with free shipping for orders over $25.00.

If you are looking for organic antiaging skincare, visit your local pharmacy to see what they are now offering.
