Since Oprah did a television show on Bioidentical Hormones a few weeks ago, website traffic to PureAgeless has increased dramatically. Our readers are seeking out bioidentical doctors in their area. Many people had not even heard of bioidentical hormones and have suffered the symptoms of menopause in silence. Some have sought out herbal remedies which might help a little, but not provided full relief to their hot flashes, sleepless nights, night sweats, etc. Others, having heard of the dangers of synthetic hormones (Womens Health Initiative study, 2002) have avoided anything to do with the word “hormone”. However, within the medical community, it is realized that hormone replacement therapy is necessary.
It is still difficult for women and men to find a bioidentical doctor in their area and we are trying to provide a service for our readers to help them locate a doctor that is close to their home. In some provinces of Canada and some states in the U.S., we don’t know of any. Yet. We hope that our readers and that includes doctors and compounding pharmacists, should they find a new bioidentical doctor that is not on our pages, would help out by submitting that doctor’s name. In the meantime, we do our research to locate new doctors for our readers.
You will also find that a compounding pharmacy in your area will be a good source for finding out the names of bioidentical doctors. We hope that doctors will no longer be giving out horrific prescriptions for menopause (one woman’s experience) as they have in the past and that more and more doctors will start prescribing bioidentical hormones to their patients. It’s all about “quality of life” and wellness as we age.
