Some Health Politics for our Readers

We apologize for the late announcement of this news but we should make our Canadian readers aware of the following which will affect their health in the future. We believe in nutritional supplements and the need for them. We support our health industry. We believe in an organic approach to our health. We will possibly lose this right to evaluate, to research and to think for ourselves if we do not act now. Please read the following by Chris Gupta. It concerns you and your health. Although the date has passed (we received this at quite late today), you can still act now.

The article follows:

While most Canadians rely on natural health supplements for their health, Bill 51 could give Health Canada unprecedented powers to legally remove vitamins and minerals off the shelves. This bill seems to serve the interest of the pharmaceutical industry, and prevent access to safe natural health products. While it passed first reading in Parliament, it can still be stopped as long as the public makes it known, to our politicians, that it is up to us whether we want to take vitamin C or not, and not need a prescription for it.

This bill has the potential of imposing foreign policy (CODEX) on Canadians, annulling previous policies that were put in place to protect the Canadian public and the natural health industry. This could mean for example that you will requires prescription for vitamin C at more that 100mg (ridiculously low amount).
Please read the info below, share it with as many Canadians as you can and make it known (written letters and calls are better, email is important too) to your MPs that you are not giving them a mandate to pass bill 51. Rallies are also taking place nationally, including one in Toronto this Saturday.
One good resource to learn more is NHPPA.

Email petitions can be found in web sites listed below. Please read below to learn more about this.
“THEY will make a critical decision on Thursday May 8th 2008 on whether to schedule Bill C-51 on next week’s order paper. IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU KEEP UP THE PROTESTS AND WE HAVE CREATED A SPECIAL WEBSITE TO ASSIST IN THIS – go to HelpStopBillC51 and / or Health Canada Abuse and send the E-Action Protest letters immediately.”

Healthy Snacks for Anti-Aging

Published by under Anti-aging,Diets

Walnuts with Anti-Aging PropertiesHealthy food can help those interested in eating in a way that fights aging.  You can eat in a healthy way that is anti-aging.  Loaded with antioxidants and healthy fats, nuts are a healthy tasty snack. Known for longevity promoting qualities in Chinese medicine, walnuts and walnut oil are another item to add to your anti-aging shopping list.

Peanuts also benefit you with their ability to lower cholesterol. Almonds

are good to add to your shopping list because they contain healthy monounsaturated fats and are a good source of calcium. Monounsaturated fats are known to lower the risk of coronary heart disease and stroke. Mind you, limit your portion of nuts each day to about a couple of tablespoons or you could gain unwanted weight.

Like nuts, seeds are also excellent anti-aging snacks. Eat about a handful a day, use them as a snack or add to wholegrain cereals, yogurt or salads. Pumpkin, flaxseeds, sesame or sunflower are excellent choices for you to munch on when you get that afternoon slump or feel like nibbling on a snack. An anti-aging diet is what you should be eating to fight the diseases of aging.
