Natural Products Deodorants
Natural Products Review – Natural Deodorants
I was looking for a natural deodorant to use after reading an article about the connection between women’s antiperspirants and their possible links to breast cancer. This article stated that women get breast cancer far more often than men and it could be because women shave their armpits and apply the chemicals of antiperspirants to the bare skin. Furthermore, due to the fact that anything applied to the skin is absorbed by the skin and the lymph glands are close to the armpits and the breasts are close to the lymph glands, I don’t want to take anymore chances with chemicals.
Another article I read stated that the paraben preservatives and the alumium salts such as aluminum chloride in deodorants and antiperspirants accumulate in the breast tissue where they mimic the effects of estrogen, which stimulates the growth of cancerous breast cells.
Enough said. I started looking for a non-chemical solution to the problem of armpits. I then noticed that most of the products available for women were antiperspirants and the products available for men were deodorants. I wasn’t sure about the reason for the discrepancy but I concluded that it was strange that they were designing a product for women that stopped the armpit from doing what it does naturally and that is sweating out the bad stuff, a kind of elimination process which is required by the body and totally natural. I tried some men’s deodorants for awhile and then discovered a natural deodorant product called Tom’s of Maine’s Deodorant Stick. I used this for a time until I found I was developing a red rash around my armpits and that was the end of that.
I found another product that was totally natural called Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal. I did a test drive, the rash cleared up and viola! I have found myself a natural solution.
Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal is 100% natural. To apply, you just run some water over it and apply to your armpits. It contains natural mineral salts – Ammonium Alum. It controls bacterial growth (the cause of odors) in the armpit and is not absorbed by the skin because its molecules are too big. It is also available in roll-on format, but as my Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal will last about a year, I haven’t tried it yet. I fully intend to try the roll-on next because it just sounds more convenient. I’m sticking with this product because at this point in my life, I just don’t feel like rolling on chemicals in my armpits anymore. For more information about this natural product, Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal can be found in your pharmacy or at the manufacturer’s website at tccd.com.
