Gastrointestinal problems – identified as distress, indigestion, flatulence and nausea can begin at around the age of 40 leaving you feeling uncomfortable and as if you have gained 10 pounds. These problems can also be felt as heartburn or chest pain. GI problems are caused by:

  • Stress
  • Hidden Food allergies — gluten, dairy, soy and eggs, foods that you maybe not realize are causing Inflammation of the intestines and the bloating or pain
  • Lack of sleep – you need eight to nine hours to replace the melatonin in your body
  • Bad bugs” (parasites, bacteria and fungi) found in the GI tract
  • There is a test your doctor can provide you with to identify foods you are allergic to. It is also good to avoid self medication (acid blockers). Also, one can supplement with Acidophilus to replace the bad bacteria in your GI Tract with healthy bacteria. This will help restore balance in the GI tract.

    A diet of detoxification can also be followed. Common food allergies include wheat, dairy products and alcohol. Eliminate these foods, one at a time to identify what is causing your gastrointestinal problems. Eat only unprocessed, natural foods.
